Meet Ambar!
This beautiful sweetheart was rescued as a young adult dog trying to evade a clan of dogs following her, typical story of adult females who are intact trying to survive the streets of Ensenada Mexico. Thankfully she walked by the right home where an amazing rescuer lives and she was able to intercept her and help her out. Amber was in heat and attracting all the male dogs, poor thing. She posted signs to see if there was an owner but nothing. She had injured paws from running around so long that she kept her safe until she recovered and after not finding an owner she knew she would sterilize her and release her to see if perhaps she 'went home' however Amber never left her home. For a couple of days she stayed outside her yard in the street and of course she knew she had to help her and took her inside as her foster dog. Amber knew she hit the lottery and made the smart move to stick close to her home.
Amber is currently fostered in Ensenada, Baja, Mexico by her original rescuer. Her foster is one of the kindest humans who has helped thousands of Mexican animals in dire conditions. She depends on ARWOB to find adopters or foster homes in San Diego so we can keep the doggos 'moving' opening space for other dogs who need help from the streets, being homeless, abandoned or in bad conditions by not great owners. Would you like to help an underdog? Perhaps foster or foster with an intent to adopt? Then please submit an application online and once we have your information we can contact you to start the process of approving a foster or adoption application.
This doggo will be attending our upcoming adoption event, PLEASE, come down and visit her and other dogs like her who are in dire need of help in finding a forever or temporary home. NO pressure. Just come down and at least meet them to interact with them and chat with their rescuers/fosters about them. We know our doggos well but then can certainly use a one on one foster home since most rescuers have several foster dogs under one home and we like to divide the work of love helping these pups.
Mega adoption event Saturday 06/15/24 from 11am to 3pm. Several rescue groups attending so please, look for the big canopy of ARWOB located close to the cinema reeding building.
You do not need to submit an application online ahead of time and are welcome to just come down meet them and go home if you'd like to foster or adopt one of our rescue dogs. OR submit ahead of time and we can schedule a meet and greet outside of scheduled events.
A little about Amber:
Amber is a very loving dog who loves to give hugs and receive pets, she just loves it when she is receiving human attention.
Amber loves to play with dogs and her BFF is Pip aka Piper who is also fostered in the same home. She is also fostered in a home with multiple small breed senior dogs. She is energetic and playful. She is easily trained as she understands when she is has done something she is not suppose to and get reprimanded for it, she is such a grateful doggo she lives to be loved by humans and not make 'any waves' to get the human mad because she got into plants or tried to chew inappropriate object. She is a young adult and would be fantastic if her adopter is planing on joining 101 dog training classes with this beauty.
