Meet Scout!
Scout is not only a handsome and loving puppy but very intelligent as well.
As of June Scout is close to reaching 30 pounds and likely will grow to be in the 45-60 pound range at a nice medium to large dog. Scout is fostered in San Diego along with a couple of other ARWOB rescue dogs and cats. He is amazing with dogs, a bit intimidated by cats and he just adores humans (men, women and children alike) Scout is your typical Mali breed. Not sure if pure breed or no, and it shouldn't matter to anyone interested in adopting him because he is a rescue dog but if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, it must be a duck! ha !
Scout's best match for an adoptive family would be one who is looking for an active dog companion. He is not the dog to just be content being in the yard to play. Currently he lives in a home with a yard and has dog and cat friends. He enjoys playing with his dog friends and FOCUSED on his toys. Very toy and food driven. He LOVES going to dog parks and would thrive on mental and physical stimulation like dog beach, hikes, camping, walking or running with his humans. He is crate trained and now house trained in his foster home BUT adopters need to remember adopting a new dog/puppy means you need to be ready to train for your home.
We are looking for an adopter who is looking to love a new dog family member AND make sure there is structure and leadership BY enrolling in actual in person dog training in a puppy training/dog obedience 101 with a profesional trainer as regular GOOD dog owner, not only because of his breed but ESPECIALLY because of his intelligent breed.
Scout is healthy and ready to find his forever family, untiil then we are sure enjoying having him here as he makes us smile, laugh and leave us in awe on how smart and amazing he is.
