Meet Pierre and Marie!
UPDATE 4-12-21: Here is what Pierre and Marie's foster family has to say:
"Pierre and Marie are such sweet, beautiful puppies. They enjoy family time and focused attention with us, but also can play alone and entertain themselves. They are rarely vocal other than when playing with each other. They are both crate trained with no accidents throughout the night. They really enjoy our 3 children ages 3, 5, and 7, all playing together regularly."
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
We think these two siblings are a shepherd/pit bull/lab mix, but that’s our best guess. They will likely be in the large breed category, possibly reaching 55 pounds when full grown.
They were rescued by a fellow rescuer who lives in Tijuana. She noticed a man who was attaching some sort of rope to their neck and one of the puppies was trying to get away. She and her husband approached the man out of curiosity, being that he seemed to be acting oddly, and asked him if the puppies were his. He mentioned someone had given him the dogs to go to the “línea” border crossing to sell them while people in line wait to cross the border. He also had drug paraphernalia next to him, so they knew they had to act fast to take possession of the pups before they wound up in the wrong hands. They offered him some money and then took the puppies home. They were a bit dehydrated and starving, but not eating very well, so it was obviously they were too young to be away from mom. They were infested with parasites and had a couple of rough days with gastrointestinal issues and learning how to eat. Fast forward a week later and they were doing much better, getting stronger, and showing great energy levels.
If you are interested in one of these cuties and do not mind waiting a few weeks to meet them, please submit an online adoption application at www.arwob.org. Don’t wait!
